Green Belt, Residential Development

We successfully argued that garden land in a rural village in East Hertfordshire was a suitable location for infill residential development. The site is within the Green Belt, and housing was contrary to the policies of the Local Plan, accorded with national policy. We were able to persuade the Council through pre-application discussions that the proposals met the requirements of national policy, and that the Local Plan policy was out of date, and so should be given only limited weight. We also worked with Studio 11 architecture to design homes that sensitively reflected the rural setting, while also being distinctively modern.
